“Summertime, Summertime, Sum, Sum, Summertime...” Or maybe you prefer “In the good old Summertime...” One thing I do know, summertime and the livin' is not necessarily easy. Days are longer, but so is the “to-do” list. Just because these next months heat up doesn't automatically mean that we slow down.
Of course, we all remember those lazy days as a kid. We would run around all day and night and play outside as long as possible and cringe when we heard our name called. I didn't want to come inside to eat or sleep.
Nowadays, I have to kick my kids outside to keep reacquainting them with good ol' Mother Nature. I don't think they know what a locust really sounds like in the evening just as the sun has begun to set. Or don’t forget the joy of being the winner of the contest to catch as many fireflies as possible. However, having said that, I still drag them out to experience it as a family anyway.
As the summer days approach, we are dealing more and more with company picnics, family and class reunions, and outdoor promotional events.
